Fuego Gymnastics Club Safeguarding Policy
1. Introduction Fuego Gymnastics Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants. This policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in line with British Gymnastics guidelines.
2. Policy Statement Fuego Gymnastics Club recognizes its duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring they can train in a safe and secure environment. We adhere to all relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, the Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and British Gymnastics policies.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
Club Welfare Officer (CWO): Responsible for overseeing safeguarding practices and acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
Coaches and Staff: Trained to recognize and respond to safeguarding concerns, following British Gymnastics' safeguarding procedures.
Parents and Guardians: Encouraged to report any concerns about their child's safety to the CWO.
Participants: Educated on their rights to feel safe and report any concerns to a trusted adult.
4. Safe Recruitment and Training
All staff, volunteers, and coaches undergo enhanced DBS checks and reference checks before working with children.
Coaches complete safeguarding training in accordance with British Gymnastics requirements.
Regular training updates and refresher courses ensure staff remain up to date on best safeguarding practices.
5. Code of Conduct
All staff, coaches, gymnasts, and parents must adhere to the British Gymnastics Code of Conduct.
Bullying, abuse, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Coaches and staff must maintain professional boundaries and avoid one-on-one situations unless in a public or supervised setting.
Parents must support a positive environment and refrain from disruptive behavior or negative interactions.
Gymnasts are expected to show respect for coaches, teammates, and equipment.
6. Dress Code
Gymnasts must wear appropriate training attire, including leotards or fitted sportswear.
No crop tops are allowed.
Jewellery, including earrings, watches, and other accessories, must not be worn during training or competitions.
Hair must be tied up securely to prevent distractions and injuries.
Coaches and staff must also follow appropriate dress codes as per British Gymnastics guidelines.
7. Recognizing and Responding to Concerns
Any concerns about a child's welfare must be reported to the CWO immediately.
If a child is in immediate danger, emergency services will be contacted.
Confidentiality will be maintained, but information may be shared with relevant authorities when necessary to protect a child.
8. Safe Environment
All training venues will be risk-assessed regularly to ensure safety standards are met.
Equipment is maintained and checked to prevent injury.
A responsible adult will always be present during sessions, and no child will be left unsupervised.
9. Communication and Social Media
All communication with young participants will be via parents or guardians where possible.
Social media interactions will be professional and follow British Gymnastics guidance.
Photos and videos of children will only be taken and shared with parental consent.
10. Reporting and Whistleblowing
Any concerns about club staff, volunteers, or participants should be reported to the CWO.
If the concern involves the CWO, it should be reported to British Gymnastics or local safeguarding authorities.
Whistleblowers are protected and will not face repercussions for reporting genuine concerns.
11. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or in response to changes in legislation or British Gymnastics guidelines.
Feedback from parents, participants, and staff will be considered in policy updates.

Fuego Gymnastics Club Anti-Bullying Policy
1. Introduction At Fuego Gymnastics Club, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where all members can thrive. Bullying in any form is not tolerated, and we take a proactive approach to prevent and address any incidents that may arise. No bullying of any type will be tolerated within the club, towards and from gymnasts, coaches, or parents.
2. Definition of Bullying Bullying is any repeated behavior intended to hurt, intimidate, or cause distress to another person. It can take many forms, including:
Physical bullying – Hitting, pushing, or any form of physical aggression.
Verbal bullying – Name-calling, insults, teasing, or spreading rumors.
Social bullying – Excluding someone, encouraging others to turn against them, or damaging their reputation.
Cyberbullying – Sending hurtful messages, sharing inappropriate images, or harassing someone online.
3. Prevention Measures To ensure a positive atmosphere, we implement the following preventative measures:
Promote a culture of respect, kindness, and inclusion.
Educate gymnasts, parents, and coaches on recognizing and reporting bullying.
Encourage open communication and ensure all members feel comfortable voicing concerns.
Ensure coaches and staff set a positive example and intervene immediately if bullying occurs.
4. Reporting Procedures If any member experiences or witnesses bullying, they should:
Report the incident to a coach or the Club Welfare Officer.
Parents or guardians may also report concerns on behalf of their child.
All reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled confidentially.
5. Addressing Bullying Incidents When bullying is reported, the club will:
Investigate the situation thoroughly.
Support the victim and take appropriate action to prevent further incidents.
Speak to the individual(s) involved in bullying and implement corrective actions, which may include warnings, behavior agreements, or, in serious cases, suspension from the club.
Keep parents or guardians informed where necessary.
6. Responsibilities
Coaches and Staff – Lead by example, ensure a positive atmosphere, and address any bullying concerns immediately.
Gymnasts – Treat others with kindness and respect, report any bullying incidents, and support their teammates.
Parents and Guardians – Encourage good behavior, report concerns, and work with the club to resolve any issues.
7. Review and Monitoring This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and in line with best practices.

Fuego Gymnastics Club Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction These Terms and Conditions govern the participation of members in Fuego Gymnastics Club. By enrolling in our club, you agree to comply with these terms.
2. Membership and Subscriptions
Membership is based on a rolling subscription.
Subscriptions must be paid in full before participation in any class.
If a member wishes to cancel their subscription, they must provide one month’s written notice before the next billing cycle.
Memberships are non-transferable.
3. Trial Sessions
We offer trial sessions for new members before committing to full membership.
Trial sessions must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
Attending a trial session does not guarantee a place in regular classes.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
We do not offer refunds for missed classes due to personal circumstances.
If a child is unable to attend due to injury, a doctor’s note is required to pause membership payments. Payments will resume once the child returns to training.
For workshops and holiday clubs, we require at least one week’s notice for cancellations to qualify for a refund or credit.
5. Sibling Discounts
Fuego Gymnastics Club does not offer sibling discounts.
6. Non-Attendance Due to Injury
If a child is injured and unable to train, a doctor’s note must be provided.
Membership payments will be paused during recovery and reinstated upon the child's return to training.
7. Workshops and Holiday Clubs
Workshops and holiday clubs require full payment upon booking.
Cancellations must be made at least one week in advance to receive a refund or credit.
No refunds or credits will be provided for cancellations made less than one week before the scheduled event.
8. School Clubs
School club sessions are booked per term.
No refunds or returns are offered once the term has started.
The term must be paid in full before commencing.
Two weeks before the current term ends, current members will be offered early booking to ensure their spot.
Five days before the current term ends, booking for the next term will open to the rest of the school, meaning a space cannot be guaranteed for current members unless they have booked in advance.
9. Liability and Responsibility Waiver
Participation in gymnastics carries an inherent risk of injury.
Fuego Gymnastics Club takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of participants; however, we cannot be held liable for injuries sustained during training due to accidents.
By enrolling in our club, members (or their guardians) acknowledge and accept this risk.
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child follows safety guidelines set by the club and its coaches.
10. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
Fuego Gymnastics Club reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
Members will be notified of any changes in advance.
